Bajaj Pulsar 200 AS Dealership
The bike might get slightly different ergonomics to justify its Adventure Sport tag

Just yesterday we brought you the news that Rajiv Bajaj, Managing Director, Bajaj Auto, said that the manufacturer will be launching an all-new Pulsar on 14th April 2015 in the country and we contemplated that this new Pulsar will be the 200 AS. Well it seems that our well-thought guess has turned out to be correct, as the Pulsar 200 AS or Adventure Sport as it has been termed, has already started arriving at Bajaj dealerships. After extensively testing out the next upcoming Pulsar in different geographical locations, Bajaj has finally come to the conclusion that the Pulsar 200 AS is launch ready.

Judging from a few pictures, their latest and first adventure sportbike is ready to fill the void between the Pulsar 200 NS and the recently launched Pulsar RS 200. The fact that Bajaj’s next product launch will be the Pulsar 200 AS comes as not much of a surprise because the production of the adventure tourer had started alongside its sport counterpart, the RS 200. Though produced alongside each other, the Pulsar 200 AS shares its underpinnings with the Pulsar 200 NS. The 199.5cc carbureted engine with 4-valves and triple spark plugs, generates 23.52 PS of power at 9500 RPM and 18.3 Nm of twisting force at 8000 RPM, which is the same tune powering the naked sibling and will also find its way to the upcoming 200 AS.

What differentiates the Pulsar 200 AS from the others is its half fairing, projector headlights and a tall windscreen. Rest of the bike seems to share its parts with the Pulsar 200 NS significantly and looks similar to it from behind except for the AS 200 badging on the side. The upcoming adventure motorcycle from Bajaj will look to carry different characteristics in terms of riding dynamics and ergonomics so as to differentiate it as a well groomed touring motorcycle that this particular segment has been lacking for a long time. Extensive changes from Bajaj on the Pulsar 200 AS is not expected, but only a few cosmetic ones that are aforementioned.
