The Pulsar 150 NS has been spotted yet again. Bajaj continues to test the Pulsar extensively and pretty much crazily like never before. It has been more than eight months since the testing had begun and spy shots have become like a newspaper which comes daily at our doormat. The extensive testing has been in the city and on the highway. Meanwhile bigger Pulsars are being tested throughout the nation as part of the weather/reliability tests. Some of the pictures were snapped at a parking lot in Pune recently where the Pulsar event was happening. It is now quite evident that Bajaj is doing it to create all the hype in the world for the upcoming Pulsars.
The Pulsar 150 NS has a smaller petal disc, Y-spoke alloy wheels, 100 section rear tyre, thinner 33 mm forks compared to the NS200, traditional rear mudguard and a single piece seat. What it carries from the NS200 is the great chassis, rear monoshock with clip-on handlebars and the overall styling. This is something which was done with previous generation of Pulsars as well. We are talking about parts and component sharing here.
The NS150 here seems to have an air-cooled, 4-valve engine with corrugated fins for better cooling. The engine will be a 150cc unit producing around 15-16 BHP of power and all of that will be transmitted by a 6-speed gearbox. We won’t be surprised to see a cost-cutting measure by using a 5-speed gearbox either. The pricing will be around the Rs. 80,000/- mark and will turn the tables in the 150-160cc segment with the kind of hardware it will offer at an unbeatable price tag. Competition will come in the form of the Suzuki Gixxer and upcoming Honda 160cc motorcycle.
