Pre-Production Tata Hexa Showcased In Pictures, Looks Stunning

The Tata Hexa emerges as a good looking successor to the Aria with the interior looking a lot more upmarket with improved power and electronics.

The Tata Hexa is based on the Aria platform but gets a more striking stance

The Aria was an extremely ambitious project for Tata Motors with its roots dating back to being one of the concepts in 2000 at the Geneva Motor Show. Launched in 2010, the past 5 years saw the automaker go back to the drawing board for new and existing products. Breathing in some new life into the Aria, the automaker revealed the Hexa concept at the Geneva Motor Show earlier this year and now a complete gallery has emerged online showcasing the pre-production model in all its glory.

Based on the same platform as the Aria, the Tata Hexa measures 4764 mm in length, 1895 mm in width and 1780 mm in height with a wheelbase of 2850 mm. Boasting of a massive road presence, the crossover is a giant leap over the Aria in terms of design and gets several striking elements including the bold new grille, contoured bonnet for a macho appeal, black cladding on lower body and large wheel arches to house the 19-inch alloys.

You also see projector lamps, LED DRLs and position lamps, gloss black pillars, horizontally stacked tail lamps on the Tata Hexa crossover. Inside the cabin, the vehicle feels upmarket with the new dashboard layout reminiscent of the one seen on the Zest and Bolt models finished in black. There is a new more car-like multi-function steering wheel, twin-stitched seats, mood lighting, auto climate control and captain seats.

You also see black applique around the cabin with brushed silver and gold inserts, while a touchscreen infotainment system offers multiple connectivity options along with navigation. Under the hood, the Tata Hexa is powered by a 2.2-litre four-cylinder VARICOR 400 diesel engine tuned for 154.2 HP and 400 Nm of torque, paired to a 6-speed manual and a GM sourced 6-speed automatic transmission.

The Tata Hexa crossover will also come with a 4WD system as optional with the Terrain Response feature with different driving modes, similar to the one seen on Land Rover vehicles. Tata has also loaded the crossover with several electronic aids including ABS, ESP and 6 airbags.
