Porsche is all set to reveal the compact SUV Macan in the coming months, as the development process of the Macan is on its last stage. Recently, the SUV has been spotted in Germany wearing minimal camouflage on the rear quarter glass, headlamps and tail lamps. Both standard and Turbo versions of the Macan were spotted testing in Germany. The Porsche Macan exteriors are heavily inspired from its elder sibling, the Cayenne.
The Macan appears to be a mini Cayenne with a raked roofline, sportier stance and modern styling elements. The front end gets treated by a wide grille and large air inlets along with sleek LED DRLs integrated neatly. The bonnet has strong character lines that blend well with the front fascia. The lower lip gets conventionally styled fog lamps along with a silver skid plate underneath. On the side it boasts strong shoulders without any cuts and creases.
The steeply raked rear gives a sense of a hatch integrated with large tail lights and quad exhaust pipes on the Macan Turbo. On the inside, expect the Porsche Macan to be loaded with high-tech gadgetry and sporty styling. The spy shots reveal camouflaged interiors with silver accented steering wheel, which can also be seen on the Cayenne. The Porsche Macan is expected to feature a modified version of the 3.0-litre twin-turbocharged V6 petrol from the Volkswagen Group, producing between 350 HP and 400 HP of power.
Porsche is likely to offer a range of turbocharged 4-cylinder 2.0-litre petrol and diesel engines equipped with an all-wheel drive system. The Macan underpinnings will be shared with the next generation Audi Q5 but the Macan will provide sportier handling characteristics. The Stuttgart based carmaker predicts to sell 75,000 units of the Macan in its first year of launch. It will be launched next year to compete with the likes of the Audi Q5, BMW X3 and upcoming X4. We can also expect Porsche Macan to hit Indian shores, priced around Rs. 60 lakhs.
