Driving a sports car is fun, but driving a sports car on our roads with the risk of breaking our spine isn’t fun. That is the reason why the Cayenne, an SUV from Porsche, far outsells its siblings like the Boxster, Cayman and the 911 in our country. We desire performance of a sports car and the comfort of an SUV and that’s precisely what the Cayenne provides. Now Porsche has made the Cayenne even more sweeter by launching the Cayenne Platinum Edition. We have heard of limited editions from other manufacturers which are nothing but mere sticker jobs, but hey this is Porsche and they have done something really good to the Cayenne.
Porsche wants to increase the comfort and safety that the Cayenne provides and hence they have added features like Tiptronic S transmission, bi-xenon headlights, Power Steering Plus, ParkAssist (front and rear) as well as privacy glazing in the rear as standard equipment in this edition. The Platinum Edition Cayenne will have the air intake vents, side window surrounds, rear spoiler lip and rear bumper trim finished in a beautiful shade called the Platinum Silver Metallic. For the exteriors, you can choose from the standard Black or White, or if you want something different you can select from other optional shades like Meteor Grey Metallic, Basalt Black Metallic, Carrara White Metallic and Mahogany Metallic.
The interiors will come in a two-tone Black and Luxor Beige combo. If you want to have some fun, you can use the paddle shifters that come fitted on the SportDesign steering wheel. You can also find the Porsche crest embossed on the headrests of all the four seats. The door sill-guards come with the Platinum Edition logo. The company has also loaded the vehicle with a Porsche Communication Management multimedia system which comes with navigation too. This system features a nice 7-inch screen and a total of 11 loudspeakers producing a power of 235 watts. The Platinum Edition Cayenne also comes with 19-inch Cayenne Design II wheels.
The Porsche Cayenne Platinum Edition will be available only with six-cylinder engines. The petrol engine produces a power of 300 HP and gives a claimed fuel efficiency of 10.01 km/l whereas the diesel engine which is a V6 produces 245 HP of power and has a claimed fuel efficiency of 13.88 km/l. The prices for the Platinum Edition Cayenne are not yet declared but we are expecting them soon. The vehicle is available for order now and deliveries are slated to begin early next year.
