The Cayenne Turbo Coupe is priced at Rs. 1.97 crore (ex-showroom).
Porsche India has extended its Cayenne range with 2 new derivatives – the Cayenne Coupe and the Cayenne Turbo Coupe at Rs. 1.31 crore and Rs. 1.97 crore respectively (all prices, ex-showroom). The model shares some technical attributes with the successful 3rd generation Cayenne. It gets some sharpened proportions and a dramatically sloping roofline for a more athletic appearance.
The new model also offers 2 different roof concepts, which includes a panoramic fixed glass roof fitted as standard and an optional carbon roof. To give it that sharper silhouette, Porsche has lowered the roof by 20 mm and made the front windscreen and A-pillar are shallower, accentuating the sloping roofline. The coupe SUV also gets Porsche Active Aerodynamics (PAA) where the spoiler extends by 135 mm at speeds of 90 km/hr and up, increasing the contact pressure on the rear axle, while PAA simultaneously enhances efficiency.
The cabin is largely identical to regular Cayenne, featuring a wide touchscreen infotainment system equipped with Porsche connect app which supports Apple car play and Android Auto. The central console sports haptic switches helping the driver to focus on the road while driving. The instrument cluster along with a central analogue tachometer gets two full-HD displays on the sides through which navigation and several data like real-time G-Force, tyre pressure and fuel economy can be checked.
The Cayenne Coupe is driven by a 3-litre V6 turbo engine producing 340 PS of maximum power and a peak torque of 450 Nm. The model accelerates from 0-100 km/hr in a claimed 6 seconds. The figure drops to 5.9 seconds if one of the 3 optional lightweight sports packages has been chosen.
The top of the range Cayenne Turbo Coupe features a 4-litre V8 engine with twin-turbo charging producing a staggering 550 PS of power and a maximum torque of 770 Nm. Porsche claims that a 0-100 km/hr sprint is achieved in just 3.9 seconds with the top speed limited to 286 km/hr. All Cayenne Coupe models feature Porsche’s 8-speed Tiptronic S gearbox.
