The GTS 4.0 models of the Porsche 718 Cayman and Boxster come with a huge jump in price over the base cars
Porsche has launched the 718 Cayman GTS 4.0 in India at a price of Rs. 1.46 crore and the 718 Boxster GTS 4.0 at Rs. 1.49 crore (prices are ex-showroom).
Placed above the base 718 Cayman which costs Rs. 1.25 crore and the 718 Boxster that has a sticker price of Rs. 1.29 crore (prices are ex-showroom), the GTS 4.0 models feature subtle visual updates.
They come with tinted front light lenses, model-specific front bumper with larger intakes, updated rear bumper with twin exhaust outlets and 20-inch 718 Sport wheels in satin black on the outside.
Inside, the sports cars have sport seats with ‘GTS’ logo on the headrests, a GT sports steering wheel covered in Alcantara, analogue clocks, a 7.0-inch infotainment touchscreen, among other features.
Ask any customer why they paid the Porsche 718 Cayman GTS 4.0 price happily, he or she would say that it was for the naturally aspirated 4.0-litre flat-6 engine. The petrol unit produces a maximum of 400 PS.
When teamed with a 6-speed manual, the motor pushes out 420 Nm of torque, while pairing it with a PDK automatic will result in the engine making 430 torques max.
Both cars can smash the 0-100 km/hr sprint in 4.5 seconds, hit a top speed of 293 km/hr and come with Sport Chrono package, sports suspension with Porsche Active Suspension Management system, torque vectoring, upgraded brakes and sports exhaust.
