Porsche has launched the 718 Boxster and 718 Cayman in India, with both the cars getting new engines.
Porsche has launched the 718 Boxster and Cayman in India. The 718 Boxster is priced at Rs. 85.53 lakhs while the Cayman costs Rs. 81.63 lakhs (ex-showroom, Delhi). Dealerships have already started accepting bookings for the vehicles. Compared to the outgoing versions, both the cars come with cosmetic tweaks and mechanical changes.
On the outside, the cars come with bi-xenon headlamps with LED DRLs while full LED headlamps are offered as optional. The chassis has been tweaked to make it more capable while the wider front end with side intakes makes the cars more aerodynamic. The cars also get a new front bumper, new rear bumper and redesigned tail lamps.
Talking about the mechanicals, the 3.4-litre flat-six engine has been replaced by a 2.0-litre turbocharged unit producing 300 HP of power and 380 Nm of torque. The motor is paired to a 7-speed PDK transmission and 0-100 km/hr comes up in 4.7 seconds, while top speed is rated at 275 km/hr. The cars get a centrally-located trapezoidal exhaust.
The steering system of both the cars has been revised. The Porsche Active Suspension Management System is being offered as an option. On the inside, the cars get a tweaked dashboard and a new infotainment system.
