Bookings for the Aprilia SXR 160 have commenced in India and customers can reserve a unit of the new scooter either at dealerships or online by paying a token amount of Rs. 5000/-.
Piaggio India had recently announced that it has commenced the production of the Aprilia SXR 160 at its plant situated at Baramati, Pune.
Now that the scooter has started rolling out of manufacturing lines, bookings for it have begun. Aprilia claims that the SXR 160 will set a new benchmark in the premium 2-wheeler segment.
The scooter has the brand’s latest global design language and looks butch. It features a fly screen, wraparound LED headlights, a 5.7-inch digital cluster with smartphone connectivity (optional extra), LED tail lights and signature graphics.
On the hardware front, the scooter comes with telescopic front forks, adjustable rear suspension, 220 mm front disc brake (drum at the back), ABS, and it will be powered by a 160cc engine that makes 11 PS max power and 11.6 Nm of torque.
Colour options offered on the scooter include Glossy Red, Glossy White, Matt Blue and Matt Black. With the Aprilia SXR 160 bookings having commenced, expect the scooter to get launched pretty soon with a ex-showroom price tag close to Rs. 1.30 lakhs.
