Mahindra-owned Peugeot Motorcycles’ Django 125 and the Pulsion 125 have been spotted undisguised in Pune.
Exactly a year ago, the Peugeot Pulsion 125 was spied in India for the first time. This time, it has been spotted, and also the Django, by MotorBeamer Mayuresh Joshi and the scooters do not wear any camouflage.
First up is the the Django that has spades of style. Its retro looks, neat body panels, dual-tone paint (white and red in this case), split seats and huge grab handles give it quite the presence.
Yes, some might confuse it for a Vespa, but that is what branding and first-mover advantage gets a firm. But, the Peugeot Django 125 is its own self and would be a treat to see on our Indian roads.
Powering the scooter in its home country is a 124.6cc motor that puts out 10.2 HP and 8.9 Nm. It rides on 12-inch wheels and has telescopic forks upfront while a monoshock does duty at the rear.
On the other hand, the Pulsion 125 is a more modern thing. The maxi-scooter also has a 125cc heart, but one that makes 14.4 HP and 11.9 Nm of torque. It is available in 3 variants – Active, Allure and RS – abroad.
It looks butch with a tall windscreen, twin headlights, single piece step-up seat, LED tail lights and has a TFT colour display, app-based connectivity, and even keyless go.
Peugeot Motocycles could be evaluating the scooters for their Indian launch. If the Peugeot Django 125 and the Pulsion 125 get launched in India, expect them to come with a premium price tag and enough features to justify their cost.
