A group of Peugeot 208s have been spied in India, revealing exterior and interior details.
Spy images of a group of Peugeot 208s have been doing rounds on the internet off lately. Unlike the previous spotting, the cars now bear MH 12 (Pune RTO’s) registration plates indicating that the carmaker might set up an office or a factory in or around the city. We already have seen the car’s exterior in the previous spy shots but this time around, an image of the interior is also available.
The Peugeot 208 could be a potential rival to the Maruti Swift, Ford Figo and Hyundai Grand i10. The car gets distinctively styled headlights, round fog lights, chrome inserts on the front bumper, sporty alloy wheels and LED tail-lights. Coming to the interior, the image reveals an all-black dashboard, 3-spoke steering wheel with silver accents, touchscreen infotainment system and aircon vents placed below it. The side AC vents and door handles also get silver accents and the hatchback also gets electrically adjustable ORVMs. The seat upholstery gets white stitching while the key hole for starter suggests that the car misses out on engine start/stop button.
Under the hood, Peugeot is likely to offer a 1.2-litre petrol engine that produces 80 HP. A diesel variant is also likely to be offered and both the petrol and diesel powertrains are expected to come with a choice of manual and automatic transmissions. Along with the 208, we expect the 308 hatchback, 2008 and 3008 SUVs to be launched as well, if not initially, probably at a later date.
