Pune based Onio Design will be giving the Ambassador a new look by next month. The Ambassador, which was launched in 1958 will be commercially launched in its new avtaar only next year and will be manufactured at HM’s Uttarpara facility. All the new variants of the Ambassador will be available with an engine size ranging between 1500cc to 2000cc. The company had sold 8,000 units of the Ambassador last fiscal, while it expects the sales to cross 10,000 units this fiscal. Hindustan Motors is looking for a pan India presence with the introduction of the new variants. By next year they plan to double the number of dealers.
