Ola scooters have been recalled to replace the front suspension
Ola has finally addressed the front suspension issue and has recalled the scooters in a unique manner with their statement. We are witnessing such type of a recall announcement for the first time.
There have been multiple complaints with proof that the front fork is weak and doesn’t withstand big impacts. Many owners have shared the images of broken front suspension of the Ola S1 scooter.
Now in their recent official statement they have claimed that there have been some concerns about the safety of the front fork arm but they assure that this is unfounded.
They further state that all components of their scooters including front fork arm are thoroughly tested under extreme conditions and are engineered with a factor of safety much higher than the typical loads encountered on vehicles.
They say the company has upgraded the front fork design to enhance the durability and strengthen it further ‘as part of their continuous engineering and design improvement process’.
This statement and the fact that they have addressed this issue makes it clear that the front fork definitely had some issues that the company was ignoring for a long while.
They further state that they are giving an ‘option’ to the customers to upgrade to the new front fork. This is unique, we have never seen a manufacturer recalling their vehicles by giving an option to the customer.
Owners can book their appointment to upgrade to the new front fork by taking an appointment from the Ola Experience Centre or Service Centre.
This upgrade will be done free of cost and the appointment windows will open starting from 22nd March. The company will reach out to the owners for the detailed process for booking an appointment.
If you own an Ola scooter, we suggest you take the appointment as soon as possible and get the front fork replaced to be on the safer side.
