The Okinawa Praise e-scooter has been launched in India with easy repayment options from HDFC bank.
After launching the Ridge e-scooter in January 2017, Okinawa has taken the covers off their second offering in the electric scooter space, the Praise. Founded in 2015, Okinawa Autotech is a Gurugram-based company working towards developing electric-powered vehicles for a cleaner environment. The Ridge and Praise are two of the many products which the company plans to launch in the long term. Over USD 40 million has already been invested to expand the distribution chain.
Okinawa Praise has been termed as the fastest e-scooter in India with an impressive top speed of 75 km/hr (depending on load). Aiming the e-scooter towards the country’s youth, the company claims a range of 170-200 kms on a single charge. The Praise is also one of the most feature-loaded scooter offering LED lights, keyless start, anti-theft sensor, ‘Find My Scooter’ location tracker, mobile charging socket and a digital speedometer showing Economy, Sporty and Turbo speed modes.
Riding on alloy wheels with tubeless tyres, the Okinawa Praise gets telescopic forks at the front and gas-charged shock absorbers at the rear. Disc brakes are provided on both wheels and the braking system utilises EABS (Electronic Assist Braking System) to provide re-generative braking. From the looks of it, the Praise will be a comfortable and spacious scooter. It gets a back rest for the pillion, edgy graphics, LED pilot lamps and a large DRL to appeal to the target audience.
Available in double tone shades of Glossy Purple & Black, Matte Blue & Black and Matte Golden & Black, the Okinawa Praise has been priced at Rs. 59,889/- (ex-showroom, Delhi). To facilitate the sale of the e-scooter, HDFC Bank has partnered with Okinawa to provide finance options pan-India covering up to 80% of the on-road price. Pre-bookings (for an amount of Rs. 2000/-) had already started on 24th November.
