Look at the sheer number of players in this segment!

SUV sales in October 2021 remained strong, as the sales chart above clearly states, and it was the Kia Seltos which took the top spot yet again.

The Korean car registered sales of 10,488 units, and stayed well ahead of its twin, the Hyundai Creta, 6455 units of which were retailed last month.

Mahindra delivered 3407 units of the petrol variants of the XUV700 in October and the number should jump big time come November when customer deliveries of the model’s diesel variants commence.

Following the XUV700 is the Scorpio, also from Mahindra, with 3304 unit sales, while the Tata Harrier, which registered 3097 unit sales, was not far off either.

Volkswagen sold 2551 units of the Taigun in October, beating the MG Hector that found close to 2500 new homes this past month. Skoda’s Kushaq (2413 units) was close by as well.

Other cars in the October 2021 SUV sales chart to clock 4-digit sales figures include the Tata Safari (1735 units), Maruti S-Cross (1524 units), Hyundai Alcazar (1392 units) and Jeep Compass (1324 units).

The MG Astor will get added to the list next time around as deliveries of the SUV began only this month.

Without the Ford Endeavour to trouble it, the Toyota Fortuner is alone at the top

In the premium SUV segment, the Toyota Fortuner topped the sales chart in October 2021 with 1893 unit sales.

The MG Gloster came second, but could not come close to the popular Japanese SUV, as it was driven home by only 260 people. During the same period, Hyundai sold 119 units of the Tucson.

In the final 2 places of the chart sit the Citroen C5 Aircross and Mahindra Alturas G4, which registered sales of 64 and 40 units, respectively.
