One of the stops during my impending world road trip would be to visit the historic Ducati Museum at the Via Cavalieri Ducati Street located in Bologna, Italy. The museum takes you back to the prestigious lineage of Ducati through the exhibits on display. While my road trip is still sometime away from realization, I can now have a look at the entire museum at the comfort of a click. The Italian motorcycle company Ducati has opened its doors to the world through a virtual tour with Google Maps.
The Google technology offers an alternative high resolution virtual tour of the museum passing along the Via Cavelieri Ducati Street outside and entering the Ducati factory. From the 1946 Cucciolo to the most recent Desmosedici GP and World Superbikes built by the iconic brand in Bologna, you get a glimpse of a room full of motorcycles. The virtual tour also enables the tour of the Ducati Museum shop, all at the convenience of a click, at anytime and anywhere in the world.
The museum is spread over 9149 sq.ft. of area featuring over 40 motorcycles important to the racing heritage of Ducati. The motorcycles are displayed on an illuminated track through seven individually themed rooms, each showcasing Ducati milestones with videos and memorabilia. The museum attracts more than 40,000 visitors every year.
