The Germans have all of a sudden started to bet big on the small car story. First it was Mercedes-Benz, who confirmed the A-Class and B-Class, followed by BMW, which started to consider the Mini Cooper for India. Now its Audi, which has started to evaluate various options to enter the small car segment. One of those options is the recently launched A1. Would you buy an Audi A1 for Rs. 20 lakhs?
“There is definitely a huge market in India for such cars (compact). We are evaluating various options (to tap this segment). The important questions are what car, at what price and the target segment. Our customers in India are very demanding and want the latest,” Mr Anil Reddi, Head (Sales), Audi India, said.
