Sales of scooters in November 2021 dropped by 37 percent
The Honda Activa topped the scooter sales chart in November 2021 and once again had a mammoth gap to the TVS Jupiter which came second.
While the most popular scooter in India registered sales of 1,24,082 units last month, the TVS Jupiter found 44,139 new homes in the said period.
Suzuki retailed 42,481 units of the Access 125 in November, while TVS sold 19,157 units of the NTorq to take fourth place in the November 2021 scooter sales chart.
Fifth-placed Yamaha Ray was retailed 12,344 times over this past month, and up next was the Burgman Street 125 from Japanese brand Suzuki with 11,248 unit sales.
Hero sold 11,136 units of its Pleasure+ in November, thus closely following the Burgman Street, while Honda got 8522 new customers for its Dio scooter.
Yamaha’s Fascino came ninth with 8208 unit sales, and Honda’s Grazia was tenth and last as it registered sales of 5448 units last month.
In all, the top-selling scooters registered sales of 2,86,765 units combined, which is a 37 percent reduction when compared with their sales in November 2020.
As for electric scooters, Bajaj sold 511 units of its Chetak, TVS retailed 699 units of its iQube, Purenergy sold 1685 units of its e-scooters, followed by Ampere with 1990 units, Ather with 2198 electric scooters, Okinawa (5367 units), and Hero Electric which retailed 7021 electric vehicles in November 2021.
