Maruti Brezza maintains its top slot for the 3rd consecutive month.
The compact SUV segment is on a rise, from 12% last month to 26% in November 2019. On top of that, the segment is gearing up for another debut, i.e Kia’s compact SUV in the second half of 2020. Looking back to the year it can be said, that this segment has been on the positive side of the trade for most parts of the year.
Coming to the report card of November 2019, the Maruti Brezza has maintained its top slot for the 3rd consecutive month after selling 12,033 units. Despite being on the top position and overtaking the Hyundai Venue in terms of sales, the compact SUV has recorded a negative YoY of 16%.
2nd in the line, is the Hyundai Venue has managed to score past 9000 units and at 9665 units, was just 335 units short of the 10,000 mark. A couple of months back, it had dethroned the Brezza to become the frontrunner, which is clearly not the case anymore.
Ford’s EcoSport failed to grab a spot in the ‘Top 25 Selling Cars Of November 2019’ and sadly, is positioned at the 4th spot in the top-selling compact SUV’s list. It has lost to the Tata Nexon which has taken the 3rd position after selling 3437 units in November 2019. Despite a fall in position, the Ford EcoSport is the only compact SUV in the list with a positive YoY of 4%. The Nexon’s sales numbers are impressive even though the facelift is expected soon.
The Mahindra XUV300’s volumes are falling down. In order to be in line with the new norms and offer an environmentally-sound product, Mahindra has also introduced the BS6 variant of the compact SUV.
