Norton Combat might be the new cruiser motorcycle developed with TVS
Norton Motorcycles have registered a new trademark with the name of Combat. This might be their new entry-level cruiser motorcycle co-developed with TVS Motor Company.
The Indian two-wheeler maker has acquired the British brand recently. This might be their first co-developed product for the Indian domestic market as well as the international markets.
Recently Hero MotoCorp and Harley-Davidson came up with a new entry-level product called Harley-Davidson X440. Similarly Bajaj Auto and Triumph Motorcycles co-developed the new Triumph Speed 400 and Scrambler 400X.
Now we might see a similar entry-level Norton in the form of Combat. Recently the Indian automaker trademarked the design of their upcoming product which looked like a cruiser bike. We can speculate that the new cruiser motorcycle might be the Norton Combat.
The design patent reveals the front profile that comes with a wide handle bar, retro looking round headlamp, USD forks, single exhaust setup and a big tyre.
It seems like an air-oil cooled engine with a capacity of around 500cc. There have been reports about TVS developing a new twin-cylinder 650cc motorcycle to compete with Royal Enfield.
The 650cc engine in the Royal Enfield bikes produce 47 HP and 52 Nm of torque. We can expect something in the same ball park from TVS and Norton.
