Nissan X-Trail looks ready to hit the showrooms in India, expected in early 2024
Nissan X-Trail has been spotted undisguised in Chennai, near the Japanese carmaker’s plant. MotorBeamer Sudarshan has spotted the latest generation model’s prototype that’s not wearing camouflage at all.
At an event last year, Nissan showcased three SUVs including Qashqai, Juke and X-Trail in India. The Japanese carmaker announced that they will introduce the new products after evaluating the Indian market and the feasibility of these SUVs for the company.
Nissan had confirmed that the X-Trail will be launched in India soon after the testing completes. Now, it seems like the carmaker has completed testing and is all set to launch the X-Trail in the next few months. It is expected to be imported in India via the CBU (completely built unit) route.
It looks sharp from the front profile having the typical Nissan V-grille with chrome treatment. It gets a split headlamp setup and a muscular bumper. The side profile gets a clean look and attractive looking diamond cut alloy wheels. The rear gets wraparound lights, spoiler with integrated brake lights and dual tone bumper.
The X-Trail is available in 5-seater and 7-seater options in the international market. It is powered by a 2.5-litre petrol engine, 1.5-litre turbo petrol mild hybrid motor and a 1.5-litre e-Power hybrid engine. The e-Power version is available with both 2-wheel drive and all-wheel drive layouts. It produces 204 HP and 330 Nm of torque.
Once launched in India, the Nissan X-Trail will compete with the likes of Volkswagen Tiguan, Skoda Kodiaq and Toyota Fortuner. It is expected to be priced around Rs. 40-45 lakhs (ex-showroom).
