Nissan is all set to launch the new X-Trail in India later this month and this comes after a very long wait because the last “all-new” product the Japanese automaker launched in India was the Magnite, four years back.
The upcoming Nissan X-Trail will be positioned in the Rs. 30-35 Lakh price bracket, thus rivalling the Tata Safari, Mahindra XUV700, Hyundai Tucson, Volkswagen Tiguan, Skoda Kodiaq and Toyota Innova HyCross.
On the mechanical front, the new X-Trail will come with a 1.5-litre, 3-cyl, turbo petrol engine which will be paired to a CVT. This will be a pure petrol powertrain and Nissan isn’t likely to launch the hybrid version in India. There won’t be a diesel engine on offer too.
As far as features go, the brand has revealed a few teasers giving us an idea on the equipment that this SUV will get. It will come with a digital instrument cluster, electronic parking brake, large touchscreen with Apple CarPlay, wireless charging, dual zone climate control and a large dual-pane sunroof.
The Nissan X-Trail will be offered in a 7-seater configuration in India. The second row will get a bench seat and no captain seats. We will be driving the X-Trail next week and that’s when we shall get to know more details about this SUV.
