Nissan has discontinued the Terrano due to a consistent decrease in sale figures.
The Nissan Terrano was launched in 2013 and it received a good initial response from the market. The car is very similar to the Duster and eventually sales started dwindling. The last facelift avatar was launched in 2017 but now the automaker has stopped production of the car at the Renault-Nissan facility in Chennai and no new cars are being shipped to dealers.
The updated Nissan Terrano received new L-shaped LED DRLs, indicator-mounted ORVMs and a Sandstone Brown exterior paint job but sadly these changes were not sufficient. The Terrano was priced from Rs. 10 lakhs to Rs. 14 lakhs (ex-showroom). Competition offered more features at that price point and hence the sales kept on decreasing. So, Nissan had to stop the production of Terrano.
Nissan is going to launch the new Kicks, this vehicle is based on the B0 platform and will replace the Terrano. The powerplant of the Kicks is going to be same as the Terrano. The new Kicks will be priced around the same price range too.
