Leaked patent images have revealed the official design of the Nissan Magnite compact SUV that will be launched in India by next year.
As can be seen, the Magnite has shed its edgy design and looks a lot more production-ready now. Let us take a look at the changes in detail, starting from the front, where the headlights and grille have been retained.
However, at the bottom part of the front fascia, we can see the smaller front skid plate and what look to be tiny fog lamps, the latter was not seen on the concept.
Along the sides, we can see that the Nissan Magnite design has been retained as it is, which is welcome, but size of the wheels seem very tiny and hopefully that is not the case when it comes to the production-spec car.
The obvious change at the rear is that the rugged bumper is gone and in its place sits a more sedate one which also houses the number plate, reflectors and the rear skid plate.
Mercifully, the top of the rear section has been retained and thus the tail lamps, rear spoiler are all present and correct.
Nissan had previously stated that the design of the Magnite was tailored to suit India and its neighbouring countries, while also stating that it will take the brand’s global SUV legacy into the future.
Expected to be launched within the first half of next year, the compact SUV will compete in a highly competitive segment which is currently ruled by the Hyundai Venue and the Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza.
