Datsun redi-GO India

Nissan is launching the Redi-GO hatchback by March 2016 and it is going to be the Renault Kwid’s twin, with many cosmetic differences.

The Renault Kwid has good looks and butch styling and is due for launch soon

Renault showcased the newly-developed Kwid hatchback just recently and the first look has impressed many. The Kwid is an entry-level hatchback set to compete with the likes of the Maruti Alto and Hyundai Eon. The vehicle will be competitively priced and will be loaded with decent features too. It looks darn good and boasts of nice road presence. It stands out amongst the sea of Altos that we have on our roads. The design of the Kwid is inspired from other vehicles from the same stable.

Nissan will launch the Redi-GO in India by March 2016 which is going to be the Kwid’s twin just how the Duster and Terrano and the Scala and Sunny are twins. The Redi-GO was supposed to be launched by 2017 but Nissan has preponed its launch. It will come with Datsun badging and will share space with the GO hatchback and GO+ MPV. The Kwid as well as the Redi-GO will be powered by a newly-developed 800cc three-cylinder petrol engine. The companies will offer manual as well as AMT gearboxes on the small cars.

Renault has stated that the Kwid comes with best-in-class knee room and load capacity. The vehicle also boasts of a high ground clearance of 180 mm. Based on the CMF-A platform by Renault-Nissan, the Kwid will be an ideal hatchback for zipping around in the city with its convenient AMT gearbox. The Redi-GO will of course get some cosmetic tweaks to differentiate it from the Kwid but overall the vehicle will remain largely the same. The Renault Kwid will be priced between Rs. 3-4 lakhs (ex-showroom) and its Nissan counterpart will cost somewhere in the whereabouts too.

The Redi-GO will get similar features and specs as the Renault Kwid
