Nissan has increase the prices of its bread and butter models, the Micra and Sunny with effect from 20th January, 2012. The price hike is between the range of 0.56 – 2.09% and is applicable on petrol and diesel version of the Micra and petrol version of the Sunny. The diesel Sunny sees no price hike. The company attributes the price hike to the depreciating Rupee but has tried to keep the price hike to the minimum. Nissan is not the only manufacturer to increase prices and recently Maruti Suzuki, General Motors and Hyundai have revisited prices owing to increase in input costs.
