Nissan Compact Sedan Launch Likely In 2022 In India
The sub 4 metre sedan will be based on the CMF-A platform and is likely to hit the showrooms by the end of 2021.
With their latest announcements of future plans for Africa, India and the Middle East, Nissan has confirmed compact sedan launch for our country. The new sub 4-metre sedan will be based on the Renault-Nissan alliance’s CMF-A platform.
It is likely to hit the market by the end of 2021 or early 2022. The new offering from Nissan is expected to be a petrol-only model with manual and automatic transmission options. It is likely to share its mechanicals and features with the upcoming Nissan Magnite.
It will get a 1.0-litre, 3-cylinder naturally aspirated petrol engine along with a turbocharged unit. Renault might come up with a compact sedan as well based on the same platform. However, both the siblings will have a different design identity according to their brand DNA.
The sub 4-metre sedans will compete with the likes of Maruti Dzire, Honda Amaze, Hyundai Aura and the likes.
For now, both Renault and Nissan are focussing on their upcoming compact SUVs. While the Nissan Magnite is expected to get delayed, the Renault Kiger will launch first by October this year.
