Nissan revealed the rear sketch of its upcoming CUV (Compact Utility Vehicle), Terrano, last week that explored more about the rear design of the vehicle. Now a test mule of the Terrano was spotted near Tamil Nadu that defines more about the exterior design of the vehicle. The test mule of the Terrano is not completely camouflaged and doesn’t wear any extensive changes to its body design except the front and rear-end in comparison to its sibling, Renault Duster. The Terrano is identical to the Renault Duster like other cross-badged vehicles from both automakers (Renault and Nissan) in India.
The front fascia of the Nissan Terrano features a new honeycomb designed grille, re-designed bumper and new headlights which carry a sharp design. The door handles, ORVMs, roof rails and other side body parts are the same as on the Duster except the alloy wheels. The rear of the test mule is completely cloaked but the outline of new wide tail lights can be easily seen and the new rear bumper and tail gate creases will enhance the rear appeal of the Terrano.
The interior of the Nissan Terrano will also be quite similar to the Duster, however a new instrument cluster, re-designed dashboard, climate control along with better ergonomics and sound insulation will upgrade the quality of the Terrano’s cabin. Nissan will launch the Terrano with a 1.5-litre k9k diesel engine as on the Duster. The regular test mules and the online contest for the Nissan Terrano gives a likely clue that the new compact SUV will be introduced by the festive season in India. Prices will start at Rs. 8.90 lakhs (ex-showroom, Delhi).
