The Renault Logan is all set to get a new form or perhaps a complete replacement. Renault Group is planning for the same and this has been confirmed after spy pictures of the new Logan have been shot. The Renault Logan is one of the most successful models and had been known for its affordability as it is cheap to buy and maintain. It was first introduced in the year 2004. Logan has been sold across the world under different brand names like Dacia Logan, Nissan Aprio, Mahindra Verito and Renault Tondar 90. The concept of the new Logan is expected to be unveiled at the Paris Motor Show this fall. The production model is expected next year.
Statistics say, the company has sold 1,110,397 Logans under the Dacia brand and 1,053,215 units with the Renault logo. The all new Logan will take cues from the current Logan and will be still on the same lines like affordability and simplicity. It would be a hardy small sedan but covered under new skin. The size is expected to be bigger than the old model. The new model will be offered with modern engine and transmission line-up. This would help in enhanced fuel economy and also lower carbon emissions. Renault and Dacia have bigger plans. Not just the new sedan but also they are planning to come up with a hatchback, pick-up truck, estate and a van version of the new Logan.
Renault has big plans for India but the Logan is not part of it. It is unlikely that the French automaker will bring in the Logan to the Indian market as Mahindra owns the rights to the car. Will Mahindra get the rights to the next generation model, is quite unlikely, though we are not really aware about the terms and conditions between Renault and Mahindra.
