Next Generation Mercedes S-Class To Feature Eco-Technology

The Mercedes S-Class is the flagship model of the German automaker in the high-end luxury segment and is probably one of the best cars in the world. All the iterations of the S-Class launched till date have been well acclaimed for the advanced technologies they offered. Recently, Mercedes has launched the sixth generation S-Class in the Indian market last year which was well appreciated for its technological brilliance and well regulated emissions while the next generation model is due to be launched by the end of this decade.

Every iteration of the S-Class has been miles ahead of the competition in every aspect and hence, has left a question mark on what can be improved in the future generations. According to the officials of Mercedes, the next generation S-Class will feature environmentally focused improvements in the powertrain construction known as Eco-Technology. The German automaker is also eyeing on the ways to reduce the S-Class Eco footprint by performing exhaustive engineering scrutiny on every aspect of the vehicle. The next generation S-Class will enhance the usage of aluminium metal for the body panels compared to its predecessor.

A new technology may also be used which is currently under development and it uses the mixture of Aluminium combined with plastics. The focus is on the reduction of the weight of the vehicle in order to improve various parameters. The talking point on the next generation S-Class would be the in-corporation of an ultra frugal diesel electric hybrid powertrain termed as the S300 BlueTEC hybrid which is estimated to deliver a mind blowing fuel efficiency figure of 22.22 km/l on the ADR combined cycle with emissions restricted to 118 g/km.
