Next Generation Hyundai i10 To Look Sharp

Tata Nano Sedan

Hyundai is all set to start the next generation i10’s production in the second half of this year. The South Korean manufacturer had announced earlier that the new Hyundai i10 will be produced in Turkey along with the Hyundai i20. Recently we heard that the company is also planning a sub 4-metre sedan based on the i10, to be positioned between the i10 hatchback and the i20. We have seen many camouflaged spy shots of the upcoming Hyundai i10 recently. The new renderings of the upcoming i10 tell us that the car is likely to follow the design language from the new ix20 and i30.

The next generation Hyundai i10 will offer three door and five door versions featuring 3-cylinder 1.0-litre and 4-cylinder 1.2-litre petrol units. The company is also expected to roll out the new i10 featuring a new 3-cylinder 800cc petrol motor. The Chairman of Hyundai Assan, Umit Karaarsalan, had confirmed earlier that the company is building a new research and development facility along with motor production facility in Izmit, Turkey. The expansion of the plant is likely to finish by the end of 2013 with the aim of increasing their production capacity up to 2,00,000 units.

The Indian buyers are waiting eagerly for a diesel unit powering the next generation i10. The new i10 is expected to hit the stage at the 2013 Frankfurt Motor Show. The upcoming i10 will be treated with the new Hyundai fluidic design offered with a long list of high-tech features. The 5-speed manual and 4-speed automatic transmissions are likely to be carried forward from the current model. The current generation i10 offers two engines, a 1.1-litre and a 1.2-litre petrol motor with a starting price of Rs. 3.7 lakhs (ex-showroom Delhi).
