Bajaj Auto lost its number two position to Honda and now the company is bracing to launch a slew of products which will help them regain back their position from the Japanese automaker. Bajaj Auto is working on the next generation Discover motorcycle, which is expected to be launched in the coming months. The next generation Bajaj Discover was spotted by Ninad Kashikar (an Autocar India reader) who snapped the motorcycle in all its glory, completely undisguised.
Bajaj Auto has given the Discover a slight makeover in terms of styling with the headlight cluster getting chrome inserts. The alloy wheels are straight lift from the next generation Pulsar, while the grab rails and rear have been slightly tweaked as well. The biggest change to the new Discover is the addition of a gas-filled mono-shock rear suspension instead of the conventional twin Nitroxx gas filled one. This is a segment first and will vastly improve the ride and stability of this commuter bike.
The new Bajaj Discover also features an all new instrument cluster which gets digital display. The tachometer adorns the most part of the console with the speedometer is digital. The fuel gauge has been kept analog though. The company has also added silver finishing in certain parts to liven up the appeal of the bike but we are not quite sure of how well that will work. Bajaj seems to be over protective about the rear tyre with two mud guards completely taking away the appeal of the rear section of the new Discover. Either way, the new Discover should help Bajaj Auto get the volumes, with many segment first features and high fuel efficiency being its forte.
