The interior of the upcoming Maruti Celerio hatchback, set for early 2021 launch, has been spied.
Despite the driver trying his best to avoid prying eyes, images were taken of the heavily camouflaged development mule’s insides.
Maruti has given the 2021 Celerio a revised dashboard. While the instrument cluster might look similar to the current model, the steering wheel looks revised and so does the centre console.
The place where the infotainment screen would sit is covered, but the fact that the driver reached to click something indicates there is a touchscreen there, and next to it sit vertical air vents, while circular ones can be on either end of the dash.
Air con controls sit beneath the infotainment screen, while below it sits a 12 V power socket, space for stowage and two cupholders, just ahead of the gear lever.
Visually, the 2021 Maruti Celerio interior spied on the test mule looks a tad more spacious in comparison to the current model and it is further made evident when we look at the exterior of the mule, which seems to have grown.
Even though it is covered up well, we can still spot the smaller front grille and air dam, halogen headlights, different door handles, and at the back we can see new taillight design and the bumper will be revised too.
The test car was running on steel wheels, and the steering wheel did not have any buttons on it either.
When it gets launched next year, the new Celerio is expected to be powered by a 1.0-litre 68 HP engine and a 1.2-litre 83 HP motor and gearbox options would be a 5-speed manual and an AMT.
