Hyundai will be launching the next-gen Xcent to rival the Honda Amaze and Maruti Dzire.
While Maruti had launched the third generation Dzire and Honda’s second generation Amaze is attracting eyeballs. Hyundai has started working on the third generation of the Xcent which will be launching in early 2020. This compact sedan will be more spacious than the current generation.
Hyundai’s prime aim is to increase the headroom, legroom and shoulder room in the Xcent. The next-gen Xcent will share its underpinnings with its hatchback version, the upcoming Grand i10 (codename AI3) which is right now undergoing road-tests in India.
The next-gen Xcent will be bigger and it will look slightly similar to its elder sibling, the Hyundai Verna. The new Xcent will get longer rear doors with proper sedan-like proportions. The feature list is expected to get improved with some features such as rear AC vents, a 12V socket along with USB charging ports at the rear and an electric sunroof.
The next-gen Xcent will be powered by the same range of engines but it is expected to get a Hyundai Smart Auto instead of a torque converter unit. The next-gen Hyundai Xcent will take on the likes of the Maruti Dzire, Honda Amaze, Volkswagen Ameo and Ford Aspire.
