The next-gen Hyundai i20 is likely to arrive in India in June 2020.
Keeping up with the spirit of the 2020 Auto Expo, Hyundai has released the first set of teaser images of the next-generation i20. The new-gen of the popular hot-hatch is expected to arrive in the Indian market in June 2020.
As per the teaser images, the next-gen Hyundai i20 more or less retains the silhouette and overall profile of the outgoing model. What seems different is the front-ent which looks sharper with more cuts and creases on the bumper. The company’s signature cascading grille with merging headlights is featured in this model too.
While the interior images are yet to be released, one can assume that Hyundai will maintain premium quality materials and offer a fully digital instrument cluster with this model. BlueLink connected-car tech with a larger 8.0-inch touchscreen infotainment system, wireless charging, automatic climate control with rear AC vents, push-button start-stop, front and rear armrests, and six airbags are most likely to make the cut.
Engine options on the new i20 will include a standard 1.2-litre, naturally aspirated petrol, a new 1.5-litre diesel, and a 1.0-litre turbo-petrol, mated to either a manual gearbox or a DCT automatic.
The next-gen Hyundai i20 will continue to rival the Maruti Suzuki Baleno, Honda Jazz, Ford Freestyle, Toyota Glanza along with some debuts such as the Tata Altroz.
