Maruti Suzuki has launched NEXA Music Season 3, a platform aimed at celebrating and promoting India’s indie music scene. This season the initiative seeks to expand its reach by embracing regional music in addition to English tracks to discover and nurture musical talent from across the country. The program offers emerging artists the chance to showcase their work alongside Grammy Award winner A.R. Rahman and renowned artists like King, Raja Kumari and Arjun Kanungo.

NEXA Music embodies the brand’s philosophy of “Create. Inspire.” by offering a unique platform for the growing indie music community in India. The initiative is designed to connect with a sophisticated urban audience that appreciates originality and innovation.

Expanding Horizons In Season 3

This season marks a significant expansion in scope, focusing on the rich diversity of regional music. Aspiring musicians can submit their entries on the NEXA Music website for a chance to be part of this transformative experience. Mr. Partho Banerjee, Senior Executive Officer of Marketing & Sales at Maruti Suzuki India Limited, highlighted the program’s intent to break boundaries and create extraordinary experiences. He emphasised the goal of bringing unique regional voices to the forefront, supported by the guidance of globally recognised musicians like A.R. Rahman.

A.R. Rahman expressed his excitement for the initiative, noting India’s vast reservoir of musical talent. He praised the partnership with Qyuki and underscored the program’s success in providing a global platform for indie artists. Rahman looks forward to uncovering exceptional talent in both English and regional music through this initiative.

Building On Past Successes

NEXA Music has a history of promoting original indie music. Previous seasons saw the emergence of 24 standout musicians who were mentored by A.R. Rahman and supported by Clinton Cerejo. These artists released original tracks and music videos that garnered millions of views on YouTube and established a significant digital presence on leading streaming platforms like Spotify, Amazon Music and Apple Music.

Season 3 aims to build on this robust foundation by embracing India’s musical diversity more fully. By spotlighting regional artists, it provides an inclusive platform for creative expression, allowing participants to reach a global audience.

NEXA Music Platform Features

The Season 3 will continue to be supported by two key components: NEXA Music Lounge and NEXA Music Lab.

NEXA Music Lounge: This segment will feature performances from top indie artists and winners from previous seasons, contributing original compositions to elevate the platform. The Lounge will include performances by artists such as Raja Kumari, King and Arjun Kanungo, alongside A.R. Rahman.

NEXA Music Lab: Selected participants will receive mentorship from international music publishers and A.R. Rahman. The Lab offers artists a space to showcase their original work, ensuring their compositions and music videos reflect their true artistic vision.

How To Participate In NEXA Music

Emerging artists from across India are encouraged to submit their tracks on the NEXA Music website. Entries will be reviewed by a jury comprising A.R. Rahman, NEXA and Qyuki, with selected contestants being showcased at the NEXA Music Lab.
