TVS Apache RTR likely to get a special edition soon, called Blaze Edition
TVS Motor Company has recently teased a new addition to its Apache series, creating buzz among motorcycle enthusiasts. The teaser, released on the official Instagram handle of the Apache series, hints at a launch soon with a brief glimpse of the fuel tank and the brand’s signature logo. The teaser ends with the phrase “Blazing Soon,” and the accompanying caption reads, “Get ready to experience the Blaze. Something menacingly powerful is coming your way.”
This announcement has led to various speculations. Many believe that this new release could be an updated version of the Apache RTR 200 4V, as it has been some time since this model saw any major revisions. Given the competitive landscape and the recent updates from rivals like Bajaj Auto, a significant update to the Apache RTR 200 4V seems likely as well.
TVS has a history of releasing special and limited editions, such as the Apache RTR 165 RP, which adds weight to the speculation that the upcoming model could be a special edition named the Blaze Edition. The name “Blaze” suggests a focus on power and performance, possibly indicating enhancements over the existing models.
Another possibility is that TVS might introduce a new colour scheme or a range-wide update, similar to the existing Blazing Blue scheme available with the Raider 125. The phrase “menacingly powerful” in the teaser points towards a performance-oriented update, which could include both cosmetic changes and feature enhancements.
Currently, the Apache RTR 200 4V is equipped with a 197.7cc single-cylinder air- and oil-cooled engine, delivering 20.82 PS and 17.25 Nm of peak torque, paired with a 5-speed transmission. The new model could potentially see an increase in power and torque, aligning with the competition from the updated Bajaj Pulsar NS200, which now includes features like an all-digital instrument console with Bluetooth connectivity.
The teaser also raises the possibility that the launch could involve limited editions of the flagship models, such as the Apache RTR 310 and RR 310, to capture more attention in their respective segments.
At the 2023 MotoSoul event in Goa, TVS introduced the dual-channel ABS variant of the Apache RTR 160 4V, but the Apache RTR 200 4V has not seen significant updates in a while. This context makes a substantial update or a new edition more likely.
