RE is preparing to add a new 650cc motorcycle in their lineup

New Royal Enfield model to launch every quarter. Yes you heard that right. The Indian bike maker is going product offensive for the next 3-4 years.

RE CEO Vinod Dasari confirmed that the company will introduce a new motorcycle every 3 months. This new product strategy will start with Meteor 350. It is confirmed for launch by June end.

The Indian bike maker will solely focus in the midsize range of bikes. The 250cc-750cc range of motorcycles is where they will concentrate on. This strategy will be applied for both domestic and international markets.

Their product strategy comprises of 5 levels. First is their platform followed by different models under that platform. For each model they will have different variants.

Within each variant they have several colour trims and graphics. Finally, they’ll be offering limited edition models too. This strategy contributes to their new product offensive plan.

We have already seen so many test mules before lockdown. There’s an upcoming Roadster, the Hunter is under development as well and new generation Classic models to follow.

It’s not all about the new platform and engines but also the tech involved. All future models will be offered with Bluetooth and smartphone connectivity. It is a big step up from the outgoing generation RE bikes.

We will see the future of RE in the new Meteor 350. It gets a new frame, new 350cc engine, new 6-speed gearbox and the latest connectivity features.

The timeline of other RE bikes isn’t confirmed yet. However, we believe it’s the lightweight and entry-level offering that RE is preparing next. Likely to be the next model after Meteor 350 launch.
