MG Motor has released another teaser video of its Hector SUV. While still covered in camouflage, many features of the Hector can be identified. The Hector is seen undergoing tests in the coastal regions of the country in the teaser video.

The car comes with a remote keyless entry feature and a nice sturdy looking key fob. In the interior shot of the SUV, we saw the presence of a panoramic sunroof, day/night IRVM and a 7-inch fully digital instrument cluster. We can also see certain alert-lights within the tachometer. The MG SUV will feature a traction control system, as seen by the alert lights.

The video shows the quad-headlamp set-up of the Hector with LED DRLs positioned in place of headlights as seen on the Tata Harrier. The Harrier rivalling SUV also gets a floating roof effect, thanks to the quarter glass between the blacked-out C-pillar and D-pillar.

The vehicle will come in petrol and diesel engine options. The petrol engine will be a 1.5-litre turbocharged unit while the diesel engine will be a Fiat-sourced 2.0-litre unit. The diesel engine produces 170 BHP and 350 Nm in the Compass and 138 BHP and 350 Nm in the Harrier. It is expected to produce power figures in this range only. Whereas, the petrol engine is expected to produce 141 BHP of power and 250 Nm of peak torque. Both the engines will be mated to a 6-speed manual gearbox, with the petrol unit getting an optional 6-speed DCT automatic transmission.

Upon launch, the Hector will fight against the Hyundai Creta, Nissan Kicks, Tata Harrier and the Jeep Compass. It is expected to be priced in the range of Rs. 15 lakhs to Rs. 20 lakh while the launch of the Hector SUV is expected to take place in June 2019.
