Hyundai has teased their new compact SUV for India
Hyundai India’s new compact SUV teased. The new model from the South Korean carmaker is codenamed Ai3 and it was recently spotted testing in India.
It will be based on the Hyundai Grand i10 Nios K1 platform. The company will position this new compact SUV under the Hyundai Venue. It will compete directly with the Tata Punch.
Hyundai will be offering a 1.2-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine. It will share most of its mechanicals with the Grand i10 Nios. We can expect it to come with both manual and AMT gearbox options.
The styling will be inspired by the latest design DNA of Hyundai. However, expect some quirkiness in the design to attract eyeballs. It will have a squarish shape and a tall stance. The cabin will be optimised for maximum room.
Since it is a Hyundai, you can expect some segment first features in the car. We have seen some test mules having a sunroof. That’ll be a big USP in the segment.
Hyundai will commence the production of the new compact SUV soon. The car is expected to hit showrooms by July-August. Deliveries are likely to commence ahead of the festive season.
