2024 Maruti Dzire launch expected by Diwali this year, soon after Swift’s launch
2024 Maruti Dzire prototype has been spotted testing for the first time in India. It is based on the new generation Swift and like all the generations, this too will share the styling and mechanicals with the hatchback.
Since it has just commenced testing across India, the test mules are heavily camouflage, revealing limited details of the new compact sedan. We can’t see the front profile here but it is likely to be similar to the new Swift with slight changes on the grille to differentiate the two products.
On the side profile you can notice the camera module on the ORVM, which means it will definitely get the 360 degree parking camera feature. The overall profile looks very similar to the outgoing generation of the Dzire. There will be new alloy wheels on offer of course.
The rear looks sharper than before with the new set of LED tail lights. The boot looks flat and sharp to optimise the space within its 4 metres of length. The bumper is huge and we can expect some design changes here as well.
The interior will get the same dashboard as the Swift but as always, it will come with lighter colour scheme like beige and black or light grey and black compared to the hatchback’s all black treatment.
We can notice the larger touchscreen infotainment display here that will feature the latest UI. It is likely to get heads-up display along with wireless charger, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto amongst other features. The IRVM looks basic and it doesn’t get the auto dimming feature.
It will be powered by a new Z-Series 1.2-litre naturally aspirated 3-cylinder petrol engine producing 82 BHP and 108 Nm of torque. It will be available with both 5-speed manual and AMT transmission option.
Pricing of the new generation Maruti Dzire is likely to increase marginally. It will compete with the Hyundai Aura, Honda Amaze and Tata Tigor.
