New gen Maruti Alto spotted undisguised, launch expected in August
The much awaited new gen Maruti Alto has been spotted wearing no camouflage. This gives us a hint that the carmaker is preparing to launch the entry-level vehicle soon and is readying the TVC of the hatchback.
The spy images clearly reveal the new design direction of the Alto which looks miles apart compared to the current model on sale. However, the rear profile looks very similar to the new Celerio.
It is expected to get the new Maruti Heartect platform along with 800cc and 1.0-litre engine options. The carmaker is expected to introduce CNG variants soon after the launch. The hatchback is expected to hit the showrooms by the end of August.
The interior is expected to get a overhaul offering more features including a touchscreen infotainment system with the latest UI and Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity. It might also get electrically foldable and adjustable ORVMs for the range-topping variants and a digital MID.
We are expecting it to be priced from Rs. 3.5 lakhs (ex-showroom) and it will compete against the base variants of the Renault Kwid.
