Bajaj commuter bike spotted with heavy camouflage, likely to be called Bajaj Swing
Bajaj Auto has recently trademarked a couple of names – Swing and Swinger for one of their upcoming products. A new prototype has also been spotted which seems like a commuter motorcycle under heavy camouflage. We believe the production name of this bike could be Bajaj Swing or Bajaj Swinger.
The heavily camouflaged Bajaj commuter motorcycle has been spotted testing in Pune. Striking similarities between the test mule and the existing Bajaj CT125X hints at a potential addition to the commuter lineup.
The test mule shares design elements with the CT125X like a distinctive round headlight featuring a sizeable bulb, turn indicators and a license plate mount. A familiar handlebar with a brace and robust front forks further adds to the resemblance. While the CT125X features front springs with gaiters, the test mule’s units are covered, suggesting a possible inclusion of a similar rubber piece.
Although heavily covered, the single-piece seat on the test mule aligns with the trend in commuter motorcycles, offering practicality and cost-effectiveness. Additionally, noteworthy features such as an engine crash guard, saree guard with an integrated footrest and a rear tyre hugger have been observed. The engine casing’s fin-like appearance indicates the likelihood of an air-cooled motor.
Despite differences in wheel design, key elements such as the front disc size and shape, handguards and thick footpegs suggest a rugged design approach for the mystery commuter.
It is speculated that this project represents one of Bajaj Auto’s significant undertakings in the commuter segment. The bike maker is aiming to fill a void in the affordable 150cc segment. Currently, Bajaj Auto’s 150cc portfolio includes the Pulsar 150 and the Pulsar N150. The new bike could potentially capture a broader audience, particularly in rural markets and tier-3 cities.
We can expect the new 150cc commuter motorcycle to hit the showrooms later next year. What are your thoughts on this name and the upcoming Bajaj bike? Let us know in the comments section.
