Bajaj is set to launch an all-new variant of the Avenger by March 2018.
Post the launch of the Pulsar NS 160, updated CT 100 and the Platina ComforTec, Bajaj is now focusing on the launch of an all-new variant of the Avenger and the V. The launch of the two bikes are scheduled to happen by March 2018.
Bajaj had announced that new variants of all its 7 brands (CT 100, Platina, V, Discover, Pulsar, Avenger and Dominar) will be launched by March 2018. The new variants will provide Bajaj the much-needed sales boost. Details on the new variants of the Avenger and V are scarce at the moment. However, if sources are to be believed, the new Bajaj V variant will be positioned between its entry-level bikes CT 100 and Platina and the V15.
According to data from SIAM, the Pulsar maker sold 55,021 and 71,365 units of the Avenger and V respectively in the first half of FY 2017-18. The new variants will help the company achieve the targeted 23 percent overall market share by March 2018. Its current market share stands at 17 percent.
The automaker currently sells the Avenger in 3 variants – 150cc Street, 220cc Street and Cruise. While the 150cc Street produces 14.5 HP and 12.5 Nm of torque, the 220cc Street and Cruise variants produce 19.03 HP and 17.5 Nm of torque. Both the 150cc and 220cc motors come paired to a 5-speed manual gearbox.
