Marine Turbine Technologies (MTT) left the world in awe when it launched the helicopter kerosene engined 320 HP Y2K bike way back at the turn of the millennium. And now they have made something even more awe inspiring, a monster on two wheels powered by a Rolls-Royce C-20B gas turbine. This incredible bike produces 420 BHP, which is more than many sports cars available today. MTT claims that this motorcycle will reach an astonishing top speed of 420 km/hr.
The latest MTT bike is full of unbelievable technology. The gas turbine engine powering the bike has been tuned to run on diesel as well as A1 jet fuel. The rear wheels are driven through MTT’s own revolutionary 2-speed automatic gearbox. The bike has a very long wheelbase, first of all to accommodate the mighty engine as well as for better high speed stability. MTT is in the last stages of development of this monster. The bike is being tested in wind tunnels to perfect its aerodynamics and few more tweaks to maximize its performance.
The new, yet to be named, MTT bike is street legal in the USA and is currently undergoing testing to get it deemed ‘Street Legal’ in the European continent as well. All these processes and formalities will be done in a few months time and we can expect the bike to be officially launched by about mid–2013. The Y2K was a crazy bike with genuinely mind blowing acceleration. With the new gas turbine in its successor producing 100 more horses, this new MTT motorcycle will most certainly set the roads on fire. It will most probably out-accelerate any machine on 2 or 4-wheels.
