Yesterday, we held the very first MotorBeam meet, which saw a turn around of 18 people. Present at the event were two cars and 13 bikes. We started at around 7 AM from Mumbai and the complete Mumbai gang met up at Shree Datta Vada Pav. From there we proceeded towards Lonavala, stopping en route to snap pictures. Meanwhile the Pune gang left at 8:45 AM and met us at Lonavala at 10 AM. We stopped at McDonalds to eat after which we proceeded towards Pavna. The roads although broken (due to the monsoons), were fun to ride on and the spirit of going in a convoy is simply irreplaceable.

There were four Honda Dios, each belonging to Dhanil, Gaurav, Chirag and Vishal. While they might be scooters, they were modified with projector head lights, after market exhausts, wider rubber (120 section rear tyre), performance air filters, etc. The scooter riders had excellent skill of riding the Dios and showed some real class. The sound of the scooters were really sweet. There were two Pulsar 220s (belonging to Nayan and Saurabh) and a Pulsar 200 with Joel kit (belonging to Mohit Soni). There was one Yamaha R15 V1 with big bore kit from Joel (belonging to Karthik) and Yamaha R15 V2 with after market exhaust and R125 console (belonging to Nizam).

There were two Kawasaki Ninja 250Rs as well (belonging to Prathamesh and Swapnil), with one of the bikes having upside down forks and handle bar from the KTM Duke 200. The bike had an after market exhaust too. Saurab and Ammar came on a Honda CBR150R, while our lead vehicle was piloted by none other than Deepak Dongre (Pulsurge on the forums). Deepak did a fabulous job of ensuring we went the right way throughout without any rider getting lost. We (Faisal and Javeid) came in the Nissan Sunny, while Harshad and Suraj joined in from Pune in the Volkswagen Polo.

In all, it was a fun day and we got a chance to talk, eat and share one thing which is common between all of us. The love for cars and bikes. We plan to do more such meets in the future. Check out more pictures from the lens of the participants HERE.
