Skoda – The Czech carmaker is planning a product offensive 2021. They have invested heavily to localise new made for India products including the upcoming compact SUV to compete with the Hyundai Creta and Kia Seltos. The second promising product is the C-segment sedan. They plan to have 130 touchpoints across India by June to have a reasonable presence across the country. Currently, they have 94 touchpoints.
Nissan – The Japanese carmaker has introduced the facelifted Kicks in the United States. It comes with a sharper styling update with updated headlights, grille, bumpers and tail lights along with new alloys. The interior too gets substantial updates and new features on offer. It is based on a different platform if you compare it to the Indian version. It’s unlikely that Nissan will introduce a facelift for Kicks in India anytime soon as the compact SUV couldn’t fetch many buyers.
Skoda – The production name for the new mid-size SUV from Skoda will be revealed next month. The carmaker is working on commencing production of the car soon as the production line is being readied. The Skoda Vision IN prototype has been spotted multiple times on test across various states in India. Launch is expected by mid-2021.
Piaggio – The Italian premium two-wheeler maker is betting big on the Indian market as they have announced multiple new launches including Aprilia high capacity bikes as well as SXR range of new scooters. They are also planning to launch India centric Vespa products including an electric scooter. To have a strong presence across the country, Piaggio has targeted 450 dealerships by 2022.
