News highlights of the day include Mahindra, Aprilia, MINI and road accidents.
Mahindra – The Indian carmaker has commenced online booking platform in the country – Own-Online. The digital sales platform adds to the convenience of booking Mahindra cars online. It offers end-to-end buying solutions including doorstep delivery.
Aprilia – The superbike maker has recalled 3287 motorcycles in the USA including Tuono 1100 RR, RF, RSV4 1000 RF, RSV4 1000 RR models. Bikes built between 2017-2020 have a front brake pad issue.
MINI – The MINI Clubman has been removed from the Indian website. With the BS6 transition, the Clubman didn’t get an update. The carmaker introduced a limited edition India Summer Red Edition of the MINI Clubman which was limited to 15 units.
Road Accidents – India has recorded more than 600 road accidents across the country during the lockdown. Most of the cases of these accidents have been recorded due to overspeeding. These crashes have resulted in 140 deaths. A big chunk of casualties include migrants returning home. The accidents were recorded between 23rd March and 3rd May.
