Hyundai – The South Korean carmaker teased the upcoming performance-spec Hyundai i20 N. It will be powered by a 1.6-litre turbo petrol motor producing 201 HP and 275 Nm torque. Does 0-100 km/hr in 6.7 seconds. Top speed is 230 km/hr. It will only be offered with a 6-speed MT with limited-slip differential. To compete against Ford Fiesta ST and Volkswagen Polo GTI.
Maruti – India’s largest carmaker has just crossed a new milestone. The Maruti Vitara Brezza becomes the fastest compact SUV to cross 5.50 lakh sales. It was launched in March 2016 and since then it is consistently selling like hot cakes. The car has recently got a facelift and a new petrol heart. It will be interesting to see the future sales as the competition is getting fierce and its rebadged version Toyota Urban Cruiser has started gaining momentum.
BMW – The German luxury carmaker recently introduced the new generation 1-Series hatchback. It is now a front-wheel drive hatch unlike its predecessor. They have now announced a new sporty version of the hatch called BMW 128ti. It is powered by a 2.0-litre turbo 4-cylinder engine producing 261 HP and 400 Nm of torque. This engine is mated to an 8-speed Steptronic Sport transmission. 0-100 km/hr comes up in 5.1 seconds.
Jewar Airport – The key agreement for the Rs. 29,560 crore Jewar International Airport has taken place today between the developer Zurich Airport International AG and the Yamuna International Airport Private Limited along with the Noida International Airport Limited (NIAL). The upcoming airport is located near Noida. The entire project is spread over 5000 hectares. It will have one runway initially and once fully expanded, it will have 6-8 runways.
