News highlights of the day include Maruti, Skoda, Nissan and production.
Maruti Suzuki – India’s largest carmaker has restarted dealership operations in the country in green zones and safe pockets. Maruti Suzuki also has the option of delivering cars at home.
Skoda – The Octavia RS 245 deliveries have commenced as dealerships start opening in green zones. The first out of 200 units allotted to India has been delivered in Goa, it is a Race Blue model.
Nissan – The Japanese carmaker has completely discontinued the Nissan Terrano in India. The compact SUV doesn’t get BS6 update, not even for the petrol variants. The Terrano has been replaced by Kicks.
Production – Majority of the automakers have restarted production across the country in a phased manner starting with 1 shift. During the Lockdown 3.0, the Indian government has relaxed some restrictions for manufacturing to revive the economy.
